New volunteer, Will O'Burn is making a plea to the Willow Burn community to help him to create a coat of memories as part of the Hospice UK Legacy Campaign.
Many of you may have noticed in Will's film last week that he has turned up to work without his beautiful waistcoat. Today Willow Burn Hospice is asking you to consider giving the gift of a special piece of material, either from a loved one's clothing or from a special memory, to help us to create a 'Coat of Memories' for Will.
Message from Will:
I have recently signed up as a volunteer at the hospice but unfortunately I lost the beautiful waistcoat my mam made for me on the way to my first day of work.
Please can you help me and my new friend, and nurse, Shirley Cramond to make me a new one?
I thought it might be special to incorporate your loved one’s clothing into my new waistcoat to make a coat of memories so that their legacy can live on at Willow Burn every time I wear it.
Best Wishes
Will O’Burn xxx
If you would like a small piece of your loved one’s clothing or a special piece of material to be sewn into Will O’Burn’s new waistcoat, please pop into the hospice with the item or contact us for a pre-paid envelope. When the waistcoat is completed, we will send you a photo of Will in it as a treasured memory to keep. Please ensure to include your contact details, name of loved one and information about why this is special to you (if you would rather not include this, that is absolutely fine).
