Helping you to live well

Day Services

The Willow Burn Day Service focuses on self-care, wellbeing and condition management in a friendly group setting, to enable people living with a life-limiting condition to live well at home. The service is operated from the Sir Tom Cowie Health and Wellbeing Centre, purpose-built to provide a warm friendly environment for social interaction, designated rooms for treatments and therapies, and access to beautiful gardens with views across Derwentside.

“The care here is first class, I love the friendliness of the staff and everyone else, and I look forward to Thursdays more than anything, especially the music.”

Complementary Therapy at Willow Burn
At Willow Burn Hospice we have a dedicated Complementary Therapy Service to deliver therapies to patients and their carers to enhance and develop the treatment experience for patients. Complementary therapies help to ease depression, anxiety and stress, all conditions which are associated with living with a life limiting illness, as well as improving quality of life and increasing feelings of wellbeing. Please note, Complementary Therapy is delivered a part of our referred programmes and we can't accept referrals for this alone.
