Wills and Legacies

Leave a Gift in Your Will

Give the gift of peace of mind, financial security for your loved ones and high-quality hospice care for the community when you make a will.

As a hospice we know how important it is to have a will, everybody, whatever your age or status, should have a professionally written, up-to-date Will - it is the only way you can be sure your money, your home and possessions go to the people and causes who you care about.

"A gift in your will to Willow Burn Hospice will help to ensure that high-quality hospice care is delivered to patients and those important to them – now and in the future.

Wills are important to:

  • make sure that your loved ones are cared for and provided for in the event of your death.

  • guarantee that any wishes you had during your lifetime are carried out after your death.

You are not required by law to make a will but without one, when you die your possessions will be distributed according to the law.

Reasons for writing a will:

  1. Control Over Your Estate

  2. Guardianship of Your Children

  3. Minimise Family Disputes

  4. Inheritance Tax Planning

  5. Support for Charities

  6. Spouse and Partner Protection

  7. Avoid Delays and Complications

  8. Peace of Mind for You, Your Family and Friends

  9. Protection for Business Owners

Whilst you can make your own will if it is straight forward, it is recommended that you use a solicitor as it is very important your will is done right.  This need not be expensive and we can provide a list of local solicitors specialising in Wills and probate who are registered with the Law Society who can give you a quote.
