On Tuesday 4 January the costs to operate our day services have been donated in loving memory of Kathleen Goldsmith. Although our day services are closed on Boxing Day, Kathleen's granddaughter has chosen to remember her grandma on this day, as it is a very special day for all of the family, here's why.

"This year I completed a virtual Lands End to John O’Groats run to raise money for Willow Burn Year of Adventure. I have chosen to gift the running costs of Day Care at Willow Burn on Boxing Day in loving memory of my Grandma, Kathleen Goldsmith.

My Grandma loved Christmas and even more so Boxing Day as it was a day spent surrounded by all the family. She would cook us all a second serving of Christmas Dinner with her famous apple crumble for afters then she would have a buffet ready for the evening with everyone’s favourites… in typical Grandma style! It seems quite fitting to choose this day as I know how much she enjoyed having her house full of family. I used to love sitting with Grandma, watching her taking it all in and smiling at us all. She continues to be a big miss all year round but even more so at Christmas.

Love you Grandma 💜"
