Amethyst Homes has been teeing off for charity, raising £500 for Willow Burn.

As part of the Dysart Group of Companies Annual Golf Day, 12 teams including teams from Dysart, Absolute Civil Engineering, Amethyst Homes took part in the 18-hole competition at Slaley Hall Golf Club in Northumberland.

Overall victors on the day were DJMS Solicitors, but the true winners were Willow Burn, who were the recipients of £500 raised on the day from all the companies and their guests involved.

To date Amethyst Homes and the Dysart Group of Companies has raised over £5000 for Willow Burn Hospice through a series of donations and fundraising activities - including taking on the 180 mile coast to castle cycle ride, from Tynemouth to Edinburgh.

The money will be used for Willow Burn’s Children’s Bereavement Service which offers much needed one-to-one counselling to support children and young people up to the age of 18 who are experiencing grief, loss and bereavement.

Rachel Quince, Deputy Chief Executive and Head of Fundraising at Willow Burn Hospice, said “A huge thank you to the team at Dysart Group who continue to help us to provide free counselling to children and young people in County Durham.

“The value of this service is far reaching and arms children with the tools and coping strategies to improve their resilience and to cope with loss and impending loss.”

Steven Bowers Technical Director at Amethyst Homes said: “Willow Burn Hospice is a local charity that is at the heart of the community. Thanks to all those that attended the golf day we have been able to raise more funds for Willow Burn, which will help support its invaluable services. A big thank you to all the teams that supported both our event and Willow Burn Hospice”
