We were very privileged to have some incredible supporters taking on the world's most iconic half marathon on Sunday 8 September 2024 to raise funds for Willow Burn Hospice.

We are honoured to share some of our fundraisers inspiring stories as we send our special thanks for taking on this incredible challenge for their local hospice.

This is Tyler's Story...

In the lead-up to the Great North Run on Sunday, September 8, 2024, Tyler will be running at least 5k every day for 31 days. This challenge will culminate with the Great North Run, the largest half marathon in the world.

"Willow Burn Hospice holds a special place in my heart;

At the end of 2021, I sadly lost my Nana Joyce and 3 weeks later, her husband, my Grandad Tony, also sadly passed away. In the last week of his life my Grandad was cared for at Willow Burn Hospice.

The care they gave to him in the last stages of his life, and the support they offered our family in the tough times that followed, will never be forgotten.

My Grandad was only in Willow Burn for about a week, but the care he received during this short time was incredible.

The support we received as a family meant so much and because of this, Willow Burn will always hold a place in our hearts."

This will be Tyler's tenth Great North Run and third time taking part and raising funds and awareness for Willow Burn Hospice.
