Amethyst Homes has been teeing off for charity, raising £500 for Willow Burn Hospice.
As part of the Dysart Group of Companies Annual Golf Day, teams from Dysart, Absolute Civil Engineering, Cummins / Eastgate Engineering, Lister RWM, TC Murray and Lamb, Consett GC Captain, DJMS Solicitors, Denton Woodhouse, Gallaghers and Amethyst Homes all took part in the 18 hole competition at Slaley Hall golf course in Northumberland.
Overall victors on the day were TC Murray and Lamb, but the true winners were Willow Burn, who were the recipients of £500 raised on the day from all the companies and their guests involved.
To date Amethyst Homes and the Dysart Group of Companies has raised over £4,500 for Willow Burn Hospice through a series of donations and fundraising activities last year - including taking on the 180 mile coast to castle cycle ride, from Tynemouth to Edinburgh.
The money has been used to support the hospice’s Children Bereavement Service for five months. This has included funding a trained counsellor who delivers one-to-one and group therapeutic counselling with children and young people within the hospice, as well as support for families, where a loved one is at end of life.
Rachel Todd, Head of Marketing and Fundraising at Willow Burn Hospice added: “As always, we are incredibly grateful for the support of Amethyst Homes and Dysart Group. With the help of these businesses, we are able to continue to provide free counselling to children and young people in North Durham.”
Mark Short of both Amethyst Homes and Dysart Group said: “It is always a privilege to host the annual golf day and even more so when we know it is helping to raise funds for such a worthwhile local charity.”
