Today, the costs to operate the Helen McArdle Wing for 24 hrs have been donated in loving memory of Jean Densham.
"Jean and I met in September 1966 at Beamish Golf Club Barn Dance, when she walked in I made a b-line for her and got her to dance, we talked all night, and found out we lived 200yds from each other in Southmoor and had never met.
We got married March 68, Gary was born June 69 and Alison 71, we moved to Lanchester in 1970.
Jean absolutely loved our 4 grandchildren, Sadie, Cameron Erin and Euan.
She was a very private person and a church member for over 50yrs in the village.
She had her illness for three and a half years without telling her friends how ill she was, and always had a smile to the end, which was on Nov 7th 2020.
We Loved each other."
