On 22 October 2023 which would have been Freddy Thompson’s 87th Birthday; the costs to operate the Sir Tom Cowie Day Care Centre and the Helen McArdle In-Patient Wing have been kindly donated by Freddy Thompson`s family.
“The family would like to thank Willow Burn and all of its team for the amazing care support and compassion given to Freddy during his final days. The facility itself and its surroundings are second to none, so it was a comfort to all of us to know he was in such a beautiful place towards the end.
Freddy sadly passed away earlier this year on 18 March 2023 after a very short illness. He left behind his loving and devoted wife June, his Daughter and Sons Jacqueline, David, Edward & Jason, his seven Grandchildren; Lindsey, Mark, Shona, James, Jodie, Leanne and Joey, and his six Great Grandchildren; Jack, Carter, Tizzy, Indie, Isla & Mason
Born and bred in Derwentside, Freddy originally from Leadgate, lived in the Delves Lane area of Consett for over 50 years along with most of his immediate family. So for us to be able to give something back to this superb local hospice and charity for the care and support that was given to Freddy, it is our absolute pleasure and our special way of saying Thank You Willow Burn.
Gone but never Forgotten, and sadly missed.”
Your loving Wife (June) and all of the Family
