This Willow Week, we are shining a spotlight on Gi Group UK who used their recent staff conference as an opportunity to raise funds in memory of Sara O’Brien, a beloved colleague who died in January this year.

During the conference in March, team members throughout the UK took part in a cycle-a-thon, raising an incredible £973.00 for hospice care in Derwentside, funding a nurse for 49 hours this week.

Supporting Willow Burn was a meaningful choice of charity for Gi Group. Willow Burn Hospice provided crucial support to Sara during her battle with cancer.

“Sara’s death was a huge shock to so many of us, so we thought it would be a good opportunity while we were all together to raise some money for charity in her memory. We spoke to Sara’s family and they chose Willow Burn Hospice as the beneficiary, because in Sara’s husband Tom’s words it is “an amazing place full of fantastic people” that supported Sara and her family though such a difficult time.”

A huge thank you to Gi Group for giving back to Willow Burn Hospice. By fundraising, this wonderful team have made a big difference to people in our community who need care and support at end of life
