Consett and District Sunderland Supporters’ Association boosts fundraising total to £46,000 with latest donation for Willow Burn Hospice of £3000.

Over the years, the Consett and District SA has fundraised through various events, including a talk-in with Darren Williams and annual barbeques and raffles.

Next season, the members have pledged to hit £50,000 which will be an incredible achievement and valuable to the hospice.

Rachel Todd, Head of Fundraising and Marketing at Willow Burn Hospice said: "It was a pleasure to meet the committee and members on Saturday night at their annual barbeque.

It is a common misconception that hospices are fully funded by the NHS but Willow Burn only receives 46% of its income from this source, which means that community fundraising like this is vital to future of the hospice and the care we provide.

I look forward to working with Consett SAFC Supporters' Association in the next season and helping them to achieve their £50,000 target."

The Consett and District Sunderland Supporters’ Association was founded in 1995 and since then amassed hundreds of members. They provide transport to all home fixtures at the Stadium of Light, while also hosting various fundraising events throughout the year.
