At Willow Burn Hospice we have a dedicated Complementary Therapy Service to deliver therapies to patients and their carers to enhance and develop the treatment experience for patients. In this video, Sue talks us through hand massage and the benefits that it brings to patients and carers.

Complementary therapies help to ease depression, anxiety and stress, all conditions which are associated with living with a life limiting illness, as well as improving quality of life and increasing feelings of wellbeing.

"My treatment today was a lovely relaxing time. Just what I needed after a stressful time."

"A wonderful experience I felt relaxed and enjoyed some me time. Feel able to go home to my care role in a positive way."

Hand massage is just one of the therapies Sue Laking delivers to patients and carers at Willow Burn and wouldn't be possible without support from current donors and funders including The Grace Trust. With thanks to Mid Durham AAP for the grant which enabled Willow Burn Hospice to set this service up in 2021.
