We're delighted to say that Jonathon chose Willow Burn Hospice as his charity when he took on the world famous, highly competitive 'Suffolk Back Yard Ultra Event' on Saturday 7 June.
The concept of the Suffolk Back Yard Ultra Event is simple; participants start on the hour every hour and have to complete a 4.167 mile trail route in that time, until only one person remains who can complete one 4.167 loop in the 1 hour time limit.
It's up to each runner how quick they complete one lap within an hour, however, if participants are not in the starting pen on the hour, then they're out!
Held at High Lodge Thetford Forest in Suffolk, this Ultra Event is NOT for the faint hearted! The concept may be simple, the rules are simple, but it's only easy until it isn't!
Not only did Jonathon take on this monumental Ultra Event for his Local Hospice, he also ran a 'Bet the Lap' Sweepstake amongst his family, friends and work colleagues AND donated £5 of his own money, per lap, for each lap he completed (28 laps in total).
Together with his family and friends and the overwhelming generosity of the 'Bet the Lap' Sweepstake winners (who very kindly donated back their winnings) Jonathon raised the fantastic amount of £895.00 for Willow Burn Hospice.
