Welcome to Team Willow Burn
Willow Burn Hospice provides palliative and end of life care to the people of Derwentside and beyond, supporting patients and their families with dignity, respect and kindness during life’s most difficult times.
Our nurses can’t do their vital work without you!
Not everyone knows this, but hospices need fundraising to survive. Willow Burn receives 42% of its funds from the Local NHS. For every pound spent providing care at Willow Burn, the charity needs over 58p from fundraising. The main running costs of our care are funded through the generous donations and support from you, the local community. Your support — whether through donations, volunteering, fundraising or simply sharing your stories, helps us continue to be there when we’re needed most.

Your Support Team
Hello
We’re Rachel and Ali and we are the Fundraising and Marketing Team here at Willow Burn Hospice (you can find us in the gallery below).
Rachel is full of bright ideas and Ali is the organised one, always picking up after Rachel’s bright ideas (you will notice we have a 7ft mascot that doesn’t fit through doors). We are both however, passionate about helping you to fundraise, particularly when it is for your family and friends, as we know how important it is to you, to honour their memory. We will do all we can to support your fundraising plans and encourage you to keep us updated so that we can cheer you on, provide you with anything you might need and celebrate your achievements.
We are available at Willow Burn, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm and all emails will be responded to within two working days. As you can see we are a small team (with big ambitions), so if your enquiry is urgent, we encourage you to ring us rather than email (we also love to chat).

P.S. Will O’Burn is also part of our team and causes more chaos than Rachel! He would also love to help you with your fundraising if he can.
